Helping with the Laundry

We have made helping with the laundry an important learning process. Michael of course insists on helping, so Andrea gives him a piece of laundry, and although he is not quite tall enough he rears back and throws it in. I figured this would be an important learning moment, since he was counting 1..2..3..6..and then throwing it in. So I told him that he needed to count 1..2..3..4.. and then throw it in, and so we counted together for every piece of laundry that he threw in. Some of the large pieces took more than one try, but remarkably we succeeded in getting them all in. Then of course he insists on helping put the soap in, and then Andrea turns the dial and allows Michael to pull the button out to start it. Michael also like to help unload the dryer, and even empties the dryer vent & puts the lint neatly in the trashcan.
